I hope that my child, looking back on today, Remembers a mother who had time to play.

Children grow up while you are not looking. There’ll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking. So quiet now cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

"Interesting" would be a major understatement to describe the past few weeks. I finally got some answers about my back pain that started in January. Was mis-diagnosed with a herniated disc... I have degenerative disc disease and mild scoliosis. Had (literally) an insane reaction to the pain killers they had me on- they caused anxiety and insomnia and other problems. Just was uncomfortable all the time and didn't feel "normal". I didn't lose it or anything. lol. Once I went off them, with the help of physical therapy- I'm feeling much better.

I am just over 1 1/2 weeks from Em's party and now I have a bunch of things to get done. Finding foam swords is proving to be quite tricky-tricky. They have them whenever I DON'T want them (and my son is constantly doing the obnoxious "mom, mom, mom, can I have?" thing. But now that I NEED them for the princess and knight bash, they're no where to be found. I tried dollar tree too. Boooo! I'm planning to make the shields out of cardboard, starting that this week! Otherwise, I'm good to go! So, so, so excited! Everything is coming together nicely but I'm starting to feel really behind. I just can't wait to see my love.

I'm having a crazy withrawal from my camera. Best Buy geek squad has it to fix... fingers crossed, before Em's party. I'm using an old one that's busted up, but does what it needs to some of the time. No flash, the shutter shakes and won't open. lol. But it takes pictures better than my phone.

Yesterday, my kids had a meltdown over a cricket. Think I'm joking? Think I'm exaggerating?
Not even a little bit. He climbed up ON her tricycle to get away. It looks like he'd throw her down to that scary cricket bug in a heartbeat to save himself. lol. If i didn't know he was such a little protector, I'd be concerned. So that was yesterday.

Today... we learned that bugs aren't all bad.

IF (and that's a big, fat "if") I can keep this parsleyworm caterpillar alive, it will grow into a beautiful black swallowtail butterfly! So tomorrow, I have to go to the store anyway, I will be picking this little guy up some parsley! Apparently he loves dill too. The goal being to teach the kids the metamorphosis process AND to cure their fear of (some) bugs. Plus, I think it's cool. I'd just be happy to not have them screaming bloody murder any time they see a bug bigger than an ant.

10 days till my honey is here! 2 months has been too long.

Life is good.
